FIGARO+ is an enhanced implementation of the Programmers' Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System (PHIGS) standard for the FORTRAN and C programmer. This standard was designed by the ANSI X3H3 committee (ANSI document X3.144-1988) to be the standard for 2D and 3D interactive graphics. It provides strict PHIGS conformance for those applications requiring dynamic and interactive modeling, viewing, and rendering of 2D and 3D objects. FIGARO+ does this through high-end functionality, such as immediate mode, quick update methods, lighting and shading, and photorealistic rendering. FIGARO+ is used by application developers who want an open, standards-based graphics product which rapidly responds to changing hardware and operating system technology.
