MAX-AB(tm) is a specialized software system that provides five-axis NC machining instuctions for the point milling of turbomachinery impellers, blisks, and blades. This system is the answer when general-purpose CAM proves too difficult to apply. There are built-in features for the selection of cutter size, depth of cut, precision, finish, optimized cutter paths, and patented collision avoidance. A graphics postprocessor allows previewing of cutter paths with a shaded-surface representaion that includes both five-axis milling machines and the component to be milled.
