OERSTED is a fully integrated, interactive CAE program for time-harmonic electromagnetic field analysis. It is used for 2-D/RS magnetic design applications including circuit breakers, electric (AC/DC) motor design, recording heads and reclosers, cyclotrons, solenoids, and transformers. Based on the boundary element method (BEM), OERSTED includes geometric modelers, static and quasi-static field solvers, open region problem analysis, smooth accurate results, and exact boundary modeling. No finite element mesh is required. OERSTED calculates induced currents, electromagnetic fields, potentials, skin and proximity effects, impedance, forces, and torques. OERSTED includes a BATCH and PARAMETRIC Analysis function in addition to IGES and DXF geometry translation.
