CSA/NASTRAN is an advanced proprietary version of the NASA-sponsored general-purpose NASTRAN(R) program for the analysis of structures by the Finite Element Method. Functions supported included linear static analysis, normal modes analysis, buckling and differential stiffness analysis, direct and modal formulations of dynamic response to time varying loads, frequency and random response analysis, heat transfer analysis and aerodynamic analysis and flutter and gust response analysis. CSA/NASTRAN supports both superelement analysis and automated multistage substructuring analysis. CSA/NASTRAN also provides a powerful Direct Matrix Abstraction Program (DMAP) capability. The DMAP language allows users to design their own solution sequences by selecting appropriate modules from the matrix, structural, output and utility modules available in the CSA/NASTRAN DMAP module library.
