GPBEST(tm) is a general purpose engineering analysis system for elastic, thermoplastic, great transfer, acoustic and dynamic analysis of multi region two-dimensional ,axisymmetric and three-dimensional solids with gaps, sliding, frictional contacts with or without interference fits. It represents about 100 man-years of development effort from a group of engineers who have given the name "Boundary Element Method" to the technology on which it is based. The technology requires a minimal meshing effort from an engineer. The system has its own pre and post processor BESTVIEW and interfaces with IGES, IDEAS, PATRAN as well as many popular finite element packages.
Both GPBEST and BESTVIEW are available for all Unix workstations.
