IRVision(tm) is a high speed, physics-based infrared imaging model suitable for design, virtual prototyping, test, training and acquisition. IRVision(tm) performs radiometric calculations continuously, not relying on precalculated radiance or color databases. All scene elements such as solar position, the diurnal temperature cycle of natural materials and the surface temperature of man-made objects are dynamic. First-principles calculations underlie all environmental quantities including thermal emittance, solar and diffuse reflection, atmospheric transmission and path radiance. The program manages independent objects as DIS compatible entities. Indigo2 class SGI's sustain 1Hz frame rates with higher speed available on more sophisticated equipment.
