The SAFiRE(tm) from EXOS is a sensing and force reflecting exoskeleton which provides joint torque feedback to human fingers and wrist, and torque and motion commands to the slave or simulation. This is accomplished without encumbering or restricting motion, while still preserving accuracy. The design uses a patent pending over and under structure to achieve its low profile and compact design while allowing full anatomic motions. Each force reflecting flexion degree of freedom (DOF) has 90 degrees range of motion (ROM). Radial/Ulnar deviation of the fingers have 30 degrees ROM. Circumduction of the thumb has 45 degrees of force reflecting ROM.
