Gmail now has a cool “web clips” feature. This displays RSS Feed entries (a default list which can be edited to add your own feeds) at a convenient location on the top of the Inbox/Current Label view. You can click on the feed item to open the item in a new tab/window.
Once again, a simple but useful feature from google, with a great use of browser real estate and smart use of intuitive UI principles
